To write this article is a MUST. Recently I was advised to spend a couple of weeks in a Residencia. I was not ill as such but needed peace and tranquillity after a rather traumatic experience.

Having considered the options: gleaming clinical perfection with warder like surveillance or a comfortable, home from home atmosphere and kindly attention, there was really no choice. Of course I chose the latter and was more than rewarded by the result and a further insight into the workings of Residencia The Colina Club. As I did not need nursing as such, I was more or less given the keys to the kingdom as it were. I moved freely and talked with many of the other residents and all the staff for who I have nothing but the highest praise. To watch their caring assistance for those unable to help themselves is to restore one´s faith in human nature. Their duties are performed meticulously but without the prison like exactitude which so often accompanies these acts. To the above must be added the availability of a physiotherapist, a social worker, a psychologist and medical attention. One feels completely safe and guarded against any eventuality.
Oh, if the thought of language bothers you, you don´t have a problem as most of the staff and administrators speak English. If you, relative or friend, are in need of constant care or, as in my case, wish to "get away from it all" for a short period, take my advice – contact Residencia
THE COLINA CLUB.
